These boats, except for their differing sizes and weight, are identical. The Sea Eagle 380 inflatable kayak is a slightly larger version of the Sea Eagle 340. It shares every single characteristic that the 340 has (same durability, ruggedness, setup, style, accessories, options, etc..). The primary differences are that the Sea Eagle 380 is about a foot longer - which in turn increases it's capacity. The Sea Eagle 380 has a capacity of 750 lbs, more than 150 lbs more than the Sea Eagle 340. This extra capacity is wonderful if you will be taking long river running trips and need to haul lots of gear. The extra capacity and length also makes gear intensive day trips for two people more organized and comfortable, too. For solo anglers,the Sea Eagle 380 inflatable kayaks works equally well for fly fishing as does the Sea Eagle 340. However, if you will be a solo paddler who will be running Class IV whitewater, the smaller, more nimble size of the 340 will allow for greater maneuverability and control. In sum, if you are a solo paddler who runs Class IV whitewater, then go with the Sea Eagle 340. Otherwise, since the Sea Eagle 380 only costs $50 more and, due to the extensive amount of extra capacity provided, the Sea Eagle 380 is likely to be better able to meet a wider variety of conditions than the smaller 340 is able to meet.
