Fly fishing is a relatively simple sport once you pick up on the basics. Unfortunately, there at times seems to be a heck of a lot of basics - all of which can seem overwhelming to the beginner angler. As such, anyone new to fly fishing is well advised to pick up one or more of the fly fishing books shown below. These books, which have been developed primarily for beginner anglers, can substantially help any person new to fly fishing to understand the gear that is used, how to use the gear, learn what trout eat, where to find trout, and much more.

Each of the introductory fly fishing books shown below are all good books. The main difference is how they are written and how much depth they go into. But all of them can provide a new angler with a solid foundation in the sport of fly fishing.
