Colorado & Wyoming Fly Fishing Books

Colorado and Wyoming
both have excellent fly fishing. The numerous high mountain ranges
collect plenty of snow, all of which eventually melts and creates
quality trout streams. Many of these rivers and streams in Colorado
and Wyoming are well known, such as the South Platte and Snake River.
Other rivers and trout waters, though, are found in isolated areas
of the state and are frequently missed by visiting anglers. As such,
a good fishing guidebook to Colorado and Wyoming is important to
anglers who seek to catch fish while on a fly fishing trip, instead
of spending most of their time just trying to find where the fish
are.

Review from Amazon.Com
This book "The Fly Fisher's Guide To Colorado",
is a book that stands alone in a sea of fly fishing
books. A well written book indeed as author Marty Bartholomew,
takes you on adventures throughout the state of Colorado.
Every detail is in the book as well from hatch charts
to hospital locations it is all in here. This is the
most complete book I own, period. I feel this is the
best choice if you are in the Colorado region, to get
all the facts. There are many different versions, about
various states, so many others won't miss out on these
great books. I as well, met Marty at the Denver expo,
a true class act!

I don't know whether to praise this book or curse it!
I thought I was satisfied with the fishing here in Florida
and my occassional trips to some of the more popular
rivers and lakes Out West. Not anymore. Rich opens the
readers eyes to an entirely different domain...not an
easy one, but one which will kindle the adventure spark
in anyone interested in pure experiences. Not only has
he generously given us the benefits of his considerable
fishing and hiking experience, but he provides it in
an enjoyable format that makes reading a pleasure. Even
if you never venture far from the pavement, this book
offers encouragement and a kind of satisfaction in just
knowing that we still have some far horizons that are
unspoiled and waiting. It also makes me glad that I've
kept myself in pretty good shape these 46 years...I'm
going to need the energy when following his footsteps!

Review from Amazon.Com
Wow. If you are looking for the tell all book for flyfishing
Wyoming....you found it. To say that this book is comprehensive
does not do it true justice. It covers every single
stretch of water worth throwing a line into. In addition,
it gives seasonal water informaiton including flows,
hatches, and species. If you live in the west, or if
you dream of fishing there, this book is a MUST OWN.
I think to fish Wyoming without reading it would be
a waste of your time.

Book
Description from Amazon.Com
Seven species of trout swim in the mountain streams,
alpine lakes, rivers, and reservoirs of Wyoming. Other
species found in the state include kokanee, salmon,
walleye, and pan-sized bass. From the sagebrush flats
to the alpine basins, there are abundant waters to fish.
You can reach some of them in your car. For the others,
a requisite hike holds promise of solitude and hungry
prey. Kenneth Graham knows these waters well and has
collected details to help anglers plan a great trip.
In Fishing Wyoming, he provides advice on where and
when to fish, how to get there, and what kind of gear
proves most effective for reeling in the catch. Graham
describes more than 200 Wyoming fishing holes, including
the best in Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks.
