This guide gave me everything from A to Z about fishing
in southern california. It hepled me pick out the best
places to go and gave me the easiest and quickest means
to get there. The full color photos were just a bonus
to the most complete book I've seen about fishing Southern
California. I'm very impressed by the fact that the
Author has traveled to each and every destination he
writes about. By adding colorful real life experiences
to the book, it is not only a great guide book, but
also an interesting and enjoyable read. I recommend
this book to all types of fisherman who plan on fishing
the Southern California region.

This book is the most complete and detailed work I have
read regarding fishing sites. It is so complete, that
all you need is get in your car, follow the directions,
and enjoy your fishing experience as described in the
book. If you are an angler, or know someone who is,
this book is a must.

Review from Amazon.Com
The intro says this book is meant primarily for folks
new to alpine fishing. What is especially good is the
de-emphasis on gear and strong emphasis on the natural
history of both the Sierra Nevada and trout. Many of
the ideas are new and original, such as the "Angler's
Caloric Law." The author's approach leads readers
right to the concepts that explain why good anglers
cast where they do. You just couldn' beat this up-to-date
book if you want to know how to catch a lot of trout
on a backpacking trip. In fact, the excellent photos
will whet your appetite for a summer trip!.

Review from Amazon.Com
This is a really good book that describes what places
to go and what to use for specific species. Has a nice
layout of knots, and gives pointers on the various popular
types of fly tackle used there. Could have included
more fly patterns, but being a Baja fisherman myself,
it wasn't a setback.
